8th Graders:  8th Grade T-Shirts have arrived in time to be worn on your 8th Grade Trip.  They will be given out today during lunch in front of the Student Services Office.  Come by and pick up your shirt if you have pre-ordered.

 

JAMBA JUICE ANYONE??  Pre-order your Jamba Juice drink  for our yearbook & rally fun day! Coupons will be sold  beginning TODAY in front of the Student Services Office before and after school and during lunch. Cost is $5. Choose from Mango-A-Go-Go, Strawberries Wild, or Caribbean Passion.  Last day to order is next Wednesday, May 30th.

 

Promotion Dance:  As a reminder to those students who plan on leaving early today to prepare for the dance. You must be in attendance thru 5th period (11:45 am). Parents must come into the office to sign you out.  

 

Promotion Ceremony Seating Assignments: The seating assignments for this year’s Promotion Ceremony have been posted in the library windows. The seating assignments are arranged alphabetically by last name. For those students participating in the ceremony please become familiar with your seat row and number as this will make practice go much smoother next Wednesday. Please keep in mind that this list is not official until the day of the actual promotion ceremony. Students can still be removed for conduct code violations.

 

Promotion Dance Pictures: Formal pictures will be taken before and during the dance in Room 8. Students who purchased dance tickets should have received a picture order form. Order forms can be picked up in the office. Pictures will begin at 5 pm. Students can come  take their picture and then return at 6 pm for the dance.

 

Promotion Practice & Tickets: On Wednesday, May 30th, all 8th graders will be released to the gym at 9 am for Promotion Practice. At the conclusion of the practice those students who will be participating in the Promotion Ceremony will receive 4 tickets. Once students are provided their 4 tickets it is their responsibility to not lose them. Students will not be provided additional tickets. All 8th grade students will be released at 11 am, regardless of promotion status.

 

SPRING CLOTHING:  The weather is getting warmer and we’re beginning to see more summer clothing. Please remember to wear appropriate clothing including tops that cover your belly and shoulders. Spaghetti straps,  halter tops, and tops that are off the shoulders are not appropriate. Shorts should be long enough to cover your behind at ALL times.  Students will be sent to change into PE clothes if they are in violation of the dress code.

 

Library- Textbooks were due yesterday, Thursday, May 24th. 8th graders must turn in all books, including textbooks, before attending the Six Flags trip, receiving your yearbook, and walking at promotion. Come to the library next Tuesday before school to check your account.

 

SLUSHIES @ LUNCH:  ETA Club will be selling slushies at lunch today in front of the cafeteria. Get yours before they run out! Only $3.

 

Attention all 6th and 7th Grade Students! If you believe you learn a lot from people who never existed, then perhaps you should come to the Anime-Club-Interest Meeting today in the library at lunch.

 

Immersion Students: Still haven’t purchased a yearbook? Stop by Room 36 at lunch to enter your name in a drawing to win a free yearbook!  One yearbook will be awarded for each grade level. Drawing will be held Friday at the end of Lunch. Sponsored by Immersion Club.

 

Class Trip to Six Flags - Today during their ELA class, 8th graders will receive a handout that outlines a schedule for the trip, as well as expectations for student behavior.  You will need to review the handout. As a reminder to those students attending, if you commit a suspendable violation on the trip you will not be allowed to participate in Wednesday’s Promotion Ceremony.


8th Graders attending the Class Trip to Six Flags need to arrive on Tuesday by 8AM.  Bus list will be posted by lunch time, on the library window.  Students that submitted the survey CORRECTLY, receive the bus of their choice.  WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY REQUEST FOR A BUS CHANGE.

8th graders attending Turlock High School- If you are interested in playing sports at Turlock High, there is an Athletic Orientation in the Bulldog Arena tonight, May 23,  starting at 6PM. Meet the coaches and learn about summer programs.

8th Grade Class Trip - Students attending the May 29th 8th grade class trip, today is the last day to return the form to have your partial refund go towards a Six Flags food voucher.  Students that attend the trip and do not return the form will receive their partial refund

after the trip.

 

ETA CLUB:  We will be having our final meeting of the year today in the PA room. We will review the agenda for tomorrow and verify bus lists. You MUST have turned in your final permission slip if you’re going on the field trip TOMORROW.

Library- All library books and textbooks are due TOMORROW. Any materials not returned by tomorrow will be marked as lost, and fines added to your account. Neglecting to take care of your library account will affect your end-of-year activities. The library will be closed Friday and next Tuesday, so do not wait until the last minute.

ETA CLUB: Don’t forget to turn in your final permission slip if you’re going on the field trip this Thursday, May 24th.  Submit them to the Student Services Office as soon as possible. Tickets have already been purchased. It will be a very interesting and exciting day!

 

8th graders attending Pitman High School- If you are interested in playing sports at Pitman, there is an informational meeting in the P.H.S. gym tonight, May 22,  from 6:00-7:30. Meet the coaches, sign-up and learn about all of the sports being offered.

 

8th graders attending Turlock High School- If you are interested in playing sports at Turlock High, there is an Athletic Orientation in the Bulldog Arena on Wednesday night, May 23,  starting at 6PM. Meet the coaches and learn about summer programs.

 

8th Grade Trip to Six Flags: On Friday during 8th period a letter was distributed to all 8th grade students who will be attending next Tuesday’s trip to Six Flags. The letter describes two different type of reimbursement options. These letters need to be signed by parents and returned to the office by this Wednesday, May 23rd. Students who received a scholarship are not eligible to receive a refund but are eligible to receive a lunch voucher and still need to return a signed letter. Students choosing not to receive the food voucher will not receive their partial reimbursement until the transportation department provides us a final cost of the trip. If you did not receive this letter please pick one up in the office.

8th Grade Achievement Awards Ceremony - The 8th Grade Achievement Awards Ceremony will take place tonight at Pitman High School Gym.  The ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm so please arrive no later than 6:15 pm. Recommended dress attire for this event is semi-formal. Also, there is no limit to the number of guests that may attend so make sure to invite those that may not be able to attend the Promotion Ceremony.
