CAASPP Testing Reminders for Ms. Martelli’s Students - Ms. Martelli’s 3rd period class needs to report to Mr. Scharer’s room 2nd period today and tomorrow; Ms. Martelli’s 7th period class need to report to Mr. Scharer’s room 4th period today and tomorrow; Ms. Martelli’s 8th period class needs to report to Mr. Scharer’s room 7th period today and tomorrow.

 

CAASSPP Testing Reminders for Mrs. DeSousa’s Students - Mrs. DeSousa’s 3rd period students will report to Mrs. Espinoza’s Room 24; Mrs. DeSousa’s 5th period students will report to Mr. Unter’s 5th period class (Room C-19).

 

Slushie Sale:   It’s  going to be a sunny and HOT week!  What better way to cool down than with an ice cold SLUSHIE!  Only $3 in front of the library TODAY & TOMORROW during lunch!

Promotion Welcome Speech / National Anthem: The Promotion Welcome Speech / National Anthem Try-Outs will be next Wednesday, May 2nd  in the gym immediately after school.

 

There will be an informational meeting regarding the speech and National Anthem try-outs today during lunch in Room 22.

 

Promotion Dance:  Tickets will be sold in front of the library beginning Monday, April 23. The ticket price is $20.00. May 11 will be the final day to purchase tickets. Picture forms are now available. If you purchased tickets on Monday or Tuesday, you can pick up a picture order form in front of the library during lunch.

 

Immersion Students grades 6-8:  The Central Valley Dual Language Consortium Spanish Spelling Bee Competition this year will be on May 17th at CSU Stanislaus. If you are interested in participating, stop by Room 36 at lunch for more information.

 

8th Grade Elective Change:   Attention all future 8th graders! If you would like to change your elective or add an additional elective for 8th grade during the 2018-2019 school year, please see Ms. Perino in Student Services by Friday, April 20th.

 

Kindness Rocks Project:   I am so excited that so many students want to take rocks and pins to share with friends and spread kindness. However, we would appreciate it if you only took ONE item at a time. Many kids have been trying to get a rock or pin and they see others taking 2 or 3 at a time. Please only take ONE at so we can spread the good vibes to more students. We run out fast! Thank you!

CJSF -  I need to change the meeting date for our last meeting because I will not be in school that day. We will meet Monday, May 14 during lunch. If you are not able to meet that day because of another club meeting come see me. ALL community service hours are due on that date. Eighth graders I will check your 4th quarter grades to make sure you are eligible for the pin and certificate. This will be our last meeting of the year.

 

IMPORTANT Student Reminders:  Students remember to have your parents check-in to the office if they are dropping off items for you including lunch, birthday treats or gifts. Curbside drop-offs are NOT allowed. All parents should check-in to the office before making contact with students. Also, students remember that cell phones can only be used before school, during lunch, and after school. Students should not be calling, texting, or posting things on social media at any other times during the school day. If you need to call your parents during a class or passing period, ask your teacher or school secretary to use the phone.

 

Wrestling Team - If you did not confirm with your coach you are attending tonight’s award banquet please do so today. Fliers are still available in the office.


Fantasy Football Team:  We have a quick meeting today at lunch to organize the season’s prizes and plan our end of the year party.

If you take a picture of your rock or pin (yes, we will have pins out there too!) please tag it

More reminders from Student Services:  Horseplay leads to fights or accidents. Remember to keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times.  Spring is in the air but Public Displays of Affection also known as “PDA” is inappropriate while at school.  Hand holding, hugging, and other PDA is not acceptable. Remember, keep your hands and hugs to yourself.

 

Wrestling Team - Please stop by the office today to pick up a flier regarding your awards banquet which will take place tomorrow. Only those students who have confirmed with the coach are able to attend. Several wrestlers still have not confirmed.

 

Staff Basketball Game - Congratulations to the DMS staff basketball team who defeated the TJHS staff by the score of 50 to 48 in Overtime! Special thanks to all of the staff and students who came out to support the Diamondback staff!

DMS vs. TJHS Staff Basketball Game - Come out and support members of the DMS Staff in the 2nd Annual DMS vs. TJHS Staff Basketball game. The game will take place today  in the DMS Gym. Admission is $2 for students (not free) with their ID Cards and $4 for all other guests. Proceeds will go to our site Renaissance/Rewards Day fund! The game will begin at 4 pm.

Book Fair- Congratulations to Faith Dyer for guessing the correct book for the Book in a Jar contest. The correct answer was Twilight: Eclipse. Come to the library to pick up your prize. Students who helped with the Book Fair please come to the library after school.


BOX TOPS – Don’t forget to turn in your Box Tops for Education!  Please cut them out and place them in a baggie or envelope labeled with the name of your homeroom teacher.  There is a box in the office for collecting or you can put them in Mrs. Olguin’s mailbox in the staff room.  The class that has collected the most Box Tops at the end of the quarter will win a doughnut party.  They look like this:
